A Magical Afternoon
Our Royal Tea was a huge success. Queens and princesses of all ages enjoyed beverages and amazing cupcakes by Mrs. Michelle Rousseau. Cinderella and Rapunzel joined us to read to the princesses and have pictures taken to put into the picture frames that they made at the Craft Corner. A fairy godmother and her fairies in training painted nails and added some sparkle to the princesses' faces. The games were also a huge hit. The afternoon ended with Rapunzel singing to us and then having all 54 princesses join her and Cinderella in a princess dance. Special thanks to everyone who helped plan, organize, set up and run this wonderful afternoon. Also thank you to everyone who donated to the amazing gift baskets that the queens had an opportunity to win. It was truly a magical afternoon.

Pennies for the Playground
Congratulations to Mrs. Wytinck's Grade One class for bringing in the most pennies for the Pennies for the Playground class challenge! The kids were so excited when I came in to the classroom and gave them the good news: they were slapping hands, doing dances and making woo hoo noises! Their picture will be in the paper on Tuesday.
Mrs. McDougall's Grade 2-3 class came in three dollars short of first place. This group wanted it bad!! Every time I was in the school, it was "Mrs. Jarvis, come see our pennies!" and I was dragged off down to their classroom.
The daycare and k-6 classes raised just over $200 for the playground. Thank you students! Every penny counts!
The community can bring their pennies to the theater tomorrow.

DOTMOCRACY is May 13.
A special thank you to the 65 volunteers who have registered so far for Build Day. Definitely a lot of buzz in town this week about our project.
Now, one of the components of the Let Them Be Kids project that I like the best and am looking forward to, the Dotmocracy, is only a week away! On May 13, Anna and I will be visiting the daycare and school with pictures of the fitness equipment and playground structure components to find out what the kids like best. We will then set up at the Raystone Center from 3-6pm for the rest of the community to come down and vote for their favorite fitness equipment.

Glenboro Area Foundation support the Playground fund.
This is the just the beginning of so many thank yous as we work together to make our new park a reality!
Kristi and I attended the Glenboro Area Foundation luncheon on Saturday where we accepted a cheque from the Foundation's Community Fund for $1000. The Youth in Philanthropy Group through the Foundation also chose to give $100 to the playground fund! A special flow-through grant from Piet VanDijken & Lorelie Mitchell of $5665.00 and the comment from Piet of "get 'er done!" were so gratefully accepted!
